Sound of the Wind was my most popular piece in 2019. I drew it while sitting outside on a porch listening to the rustle of leaves in the tall trees around me and the insistent call of the wind chimes in the neighboring yard. As the wind grew stronger I could feel the debris it carried biting against my legs in a sort of moody brew reminding me to go inside for the coming storm. I tried to capture this moment in a free flowing drawing conveying the deconstruction of a mandala- a pattern that is normally very organized and precise- falling apart into the wind.
